Dear friends,
recently I emailed you an invitation to attend the spring birdwatching at Leard Forest, with a note stating that I am still trying to obtain permission from Police and Forestry Corporation to hold the survey within the Leard State Forest in addition to the SCA.
I haven’t heard from any of you yet, although I have received numerous responses from the Tamworth area.
In the meantime, great news, the authorities have OK’d us to do the survey within the State Forest! There is a possibility that we can even camp inside the Leard Forest. I am meeting with RFS on Tuesday to obtain maps and discuss evacuation planning.
I will relaunch the invitation after the RFS meeting with details of the camping etc.
Note: also coming is the top koala expert David Paull. He will also take the opportunity to survey for koalas.

Please remember to tell your friends this event is not a protest per se, but a wildlife survey. It is however, an opportunity for us to get visuals and stories that dispute the false claims by Paul Flynn and WHC that the Leard is not “pristeen” therefore, does not deserve to be saved.
