It recounts personal stories of suffering and courage as local communities stand together against the mining industry.

As coal mining and coal seam gas mines move towards some of New South Wales’ most productive farmlands, new alliances are being formed. Whole communities are discovering their very existence is in doubt. There is a struggle going on over the social and environmental costs of mining, a conflict over land, water, jobs, and corporate profits versus communities.

Join SLA to see and discuss the film. It unapologetically presents the views of the farmers who have formed Lock the Gate. But this is a view largely ignored by mainstream media and by our politicians so it is timely for them to have their arguments heard.

All welcome at 7pm on Thursday, October 3rd at Kent House (Faulkner Street opposite Central Park). The film and discussions will be followed by a light supper and an opportunity for people to talk informally. Gold coin donation appreciated.
