We want to write the words ‘community garden’ on the north-facing fence of the garden – who out there would like to help us do it?
The individual letters have already been set up on the fence in twine and the idea is for people to adopt a letter and create it out of recycled or natural materials (or a mixture of the two). The letters should be wide enough to be visible, but not so wide as to interfere with those on either side (10cm seems to be about right). They should be reasonably durable and also easy to see.
We already have an ‘i’ made from strips from aluminium drink cans, and a ‘y’ that started life as an artificial christmas tree. Everyone has a different idea – what could ‘your’ letter be made of? You could make it a family project for the holidays!
