The SLA Energy Group meets the first Monday of each month at 1pm at the Southern New England Landcare office in the East Mall, upstairs to the right of the Colour Copy Centre.
Over the years, we have focused on many things from solar panels on public buildings to getting a NSW Environmental Trust grant, ‘I Can Do It’, to run workshops on how to save domestic energy.
We were instrumental in bringing together many groups to consider ways to make New England Energy self-sufficient. A focus on community owned projects led to the creation of New England Wind.
We’ve also written many submissions and letters lobbying both State and Federal Governments on issues related to Australia’s future energy generation, distribution and ownership.
Now we need energy in the form of new participants to determine where to next. We are currently looking at energy efficiency but our numbers have dwindled and we need renewed vigor. So please come along. Offer suggestions, get involved and make a difference.
