‘The Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities Awards 2012 , Wildlife Corridors and Habitats Conservation Award to Northern Tablelands for High Country Urban Biodiversity Award in the Category of population 25,000+’ is the legend on the beautiful plaque which was accepted for us at the Awards ceremony at Lithgow by Phil Wheaton from Armidale Bowling Club.
Phil had just accepted the Water Conservation award for his club and came home so excited and inspired, vowing that Armidale should be an overall winner in the future.
Congratulations to Armidale Bowling Club for that award, but better still is the commitment being made by the members to continue working in the Creeklands. Having held one highly successful planting in their own showcase site, they will complete the job in early December and Phil believes they will make a long-term commitment to continue the work.
