Next visit to a potential sustainable village site

Hi all,

Our next visit to a potential Sustainable Village Site is planned for 2pm this Saturday 28 May. Joe and Mattie Ho have invited us to visit their property on Milne Rd which they are proposing to create a community title over.  It has already been operating as a mini (2 family) community, so Joe and Mattie can speak from experience about community life joys and challenges.

Joe provided the following background

“The aim was to set up a low carbon foot print living group (2 families) that shared infrastructure, carpooled and where the kids could grow up together.  We got two dwelling entitlements with the help of a detailed agricultural plan substantiating a ‘property managers’ dwelling.  Now we plan to create a community title over the property. Therefore the strawbale & timber dwellings, sharing of roadway, certain building equipment, property water pump & tank, lawn mowers, etc. The carpooling works well and the younger kids spend time together still.”
