SUMMARY:Armidale Farmers Market
DESCRIPTION:Armidale Farmers Market is on 2nd Sunday each month 8:30am–12:30pm at Curtis Park \nOne of the great advantages of Curtis Park is that many people will be able to cycle and walk to the market. We’re always working on new ideas and activities in the pipeline and are aiming to continue to provide a vibrant and quality market. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page and Instagram. \nIf you are a paid up member of Sustainable Living Armidale you are welcome to sell produce at the Armidale Local Food stall with a slice of profits going to paying for the stall and surplus goes to SLA which in turn propels new projects. \nBYO bags + reuseables\, we’re aiming for a plastic free zone!

SUMMARY:Bike-Aid launch at mall markets — we help you to fix your bike
DESCRIPTION:Craig Johnson and Kade Smith are two experienced bicycle mechanics local to Armidale. They are launching their idea called Bike-Aid at the next monthly Armidale Mall Markets on April 26th. \nBike-Aid is an initiative to promote sustainable transport and local resilience by helping people maintain & repair their own bicycles. \nThe idea is to have a stall set up with a couple of bike stands\, tools and some basic spare parts. People can bring their bikes along and we will assist and teach them to carry out the necessary repairs. Guidance is free and any spare parts will need to be paid for by the bike owner. We will source much of the spare parts from our local bicycle shops. \nWe believe it is a timely project given the pressure the community is facing with fuel scarcity and rising costs. We also feel it will meet the following objectives: \n\nimprove public health\nencourage alternate sustainable transport\nconnect community\nshare skills\nencourage repair over replace\n\nIt will also be a great addition to the huddle of SLA stalls currently present at the Mall Markets.
