Knit-In in solidarity with NW Alliance actions in Gunnedah, Narrabri and Sydney

Thank you to everyone who participated in the record breaking longest highway demonstration on Sunday, and thanks to the people of Coonabarabran who started it all! Across over 2,500km of highway in NSW and QLD, hundreds of Australians called for protection of water, health and communities from the coal seam gas industry.

So what’s next in our battle to keep CSG from the North West?

If you can, please join a quick protest next Thursday, the 30th April, on the day of the Santos’ Annual General Meeting. We will send a message to Santos shareholders to drop NSW CSG through targeting all of their offices in the state; Narrabri, Gunnedah and Sydney.
The project is now years behind schedule and financial analysts are seriously questioning its viability. People power has caused controversy and delays and put the whole Pilliga CSG project on seriously shaky ground.

Now, the whole justification for the project – a looming NSW gas shortage – has been conclusively disproven.
