ALF stall at Farmers Markets

It was pleasantly surprising to accrue the amount of produce for this stall. Although predominated by fresh winter greens, shallots, a splash of beetroot and lemons most items were sold throughout the morning. In contrast to the usual rush by stall goers at previous markets, resulting in most of our popular items sold by 9.30am, the morning trade was more steady and gradual. Maybe the very cold crisp morning had something to say for people choosing to shop after the frost! Since this stall, a wonderful response has been received by keen community members to attend Tim Marshall’s compost workshop, now fully booked.

We plan to provide at the next stall on 1st September, a selection of winter greens as well as seedlings and preserves. A range of seeds will be available for keen gardeners to plant and we plan to provide a small planting display in readiness for spring planting in the coming months.
