ALF home grown produce stall at the Farmers’ Market!

Sunday, 2 Jan
8:00 amto12:00 pm

Our stall will be operating again this Sunday the 2nd of January and we encourage more growers to participate.

Produce this weekend will include  garlic, artichokes, snow peas, herbs, berries, and big red & brown onions, as well as many others.  We hope to see you there!

Purposes:

  1. To make a little money from our excess veggies.
  2. To show what can be grown in Armidale, & when  (planting guides will be available).
  3. To provide another SLA/ALF advocacy outlet.
  4. To support the Farmers Market.

Veggie “bookings”:  To avoid excessive duplication, I am asking participants to let me know what item(s) you will be bringing for sale, and your likely start and finish dates (1st & 3rd Sundays).  The first to “book” will be the first sold.  I will communicate back to you regularly (stall email list) as to where you/we stand.  Below is my info.  But if you wake up on Farmers Market morning and find you have some extra veggies, come on down.

Dates:  7/11, 21/11, 5/12, 19/12, 2/1?, 16/1, 6/2, 20/2, 6/3, 20/3, ¾, etc.

Prices:  We will set prices based on current & prior competition, The Food Shed, Armidale Wholesale, Woolies & Coles.  If you have a desired price, put it on your Item Box Tag.  If yours is the only one of that item, we will price at your number.

Item Box Tag: For each item, provide your own display box/basket/cooler tagged with your name, desired price (if any), and leftover disposal instructions (you will pick up before 1pm, we should discount, give away, or compost).  I will bring your empty containers back to the next market for your or others’ re-use.  Please indicate if the item is Certified Organic or Garden Grown No Chemicals.  Otherwise we will leave unmarked under the Garden Grown ‘umbrella’.

SLA Revenue Sharing:  SLA will get 1/3 of sales until recovery of the $20 stall fee.  Above this, SLA will receive 10% of sales.  Both these sharings will be computed pro rata among the participants’ sales.  Volunteers’ sales won’t be assessed the 10%.  SLA has purchased a gazebo and table for our use.

Accounts:  We will record each sale by name, item and dollar amount.  Then at the end of the day, or at the next or subsequent Markets you can pick up your proceeds.

Volunteers:  There are just 4 of us so far.  To make our stall sustainable, we will ultimately need more volunteers.
